Lewis structure of H2S2 (Hydrogen disulfide)

The lewis structure of H2S2 is very similar to the lewis structure of H2O2.

  • H2S2 lewis structure is made up of two sulfur (S) atoms that are situated in the middle position. The two hydrogens (H) atoms are in a terminal position.
  • In the H2S2 lewis structure, a total of 4 lone pairs and 3 bond pairs are present.

It should be noted that, in lewis’s structure, the lone pairs are represented as dots and bond pairs are as single, double, or triple bonds.

  • By looking at the H2S2 Lewis structure, we see, there are 8 dot electrons means 4 lone pairs present. [∴ 2 dot electrons means one lone pair).
  • Also, three single bonds are present in the structure, which means three bond pairs are also present in the lewis structure of H2S2.
